Master jewelers began reimagining Khepri—the Egyptian god of transformation and rebirth—through the organic, flowing language of Art Nouveau. The brooch showcases extraordinary craftsmanship: fine feather-shaped enamel sections glowing with clarity, reverse-cut openwork lozenges on thin metal, and a dual-purpose amethyst stone serving as both the radiant body of the scarab and a functional personal seal. The carved amethyst bears subtle symbols ("AAA", a horizontal line, and a star), reflecting the popular Victorian and Edwardian tradition of repurposing older family gemstones to give them a brilliant new life.
